The Department of Homeland Security announced on January 20, 2021 that it is suspending new enrollments in the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program. Effective January 21, the DHS will stop adding individuals into the program.
All current MPP participants should remain where they are, pending further official information from U.S. government officials.
DHS further announced that individuals outside of the United States will not be eligible for legal status under the bill President Biden sent to Congress. The bill's provisions apply only to people already living in the United States.
