Criminal Defense: Do’s And Don’ts

If you have been arrested or charged with a CRIME, DO:

  1. Remain silent at all times. Remember, anything you say can and will be used against you.
  2. Contact an attorney immediately.
  3. Preserve any evidence that you believe will help your DEFENSE.
  4. Provide your attorney with accurate information about the allegations you are facing and relevant witnesses.

  1. Talk with the police or law enforcement authorities without the presence of your attorney.
  2. Sign anything.
  3. Discuss your case with anyone, EXCEPT, your attorney. Not even with your family or best friends.
  4. Destroy evidence.
