On July 31, 2020, the Department of Homeland Security announced a final rule increasing filing fees for certain immigration and naturalization benefits. The new fees will go into effect on October 2, 2020. Naturalization application filing fees were increased by 83%. USCIS increased the cost of the N-400 application for Naturalization from $640.00 to $1,170.
Our advice is to apply for benefits such as Naturalization before the new fees goes into effect. Consult an immigration attorney sooner rather than later.
