Texas police assisted after recent collision

On Behalf of | Mar 8, 2022 | Personal Injury

While one might expect a lot of traffic in the wee hours of a morning after midnight, this is not always the case on a Texas highway. Two vehicles collided on the northbound ramp of I-35 at approximately 2:30 a.m. on a recent Sunday. One of the vehicles was a van and the other was a motorcycle.

Rescuers provided emergency care on site

Paramedics and police officers responded to the scene. The medics performed CPR on the motorcyclist. Sadly, he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the crash. The ramp and the service road were closed to traffic for a police investigation to take place.

No one in the van was hurt

The motorcyclist was reportedly the only person involved in the crash to suffer injuries. Ramps used for merging onto or exiting highways are high-risk areas for collisions. If someone fails to yield a right-of-way or makes a sudden lane change, etc., it can make traffic conditions quite dangerous.

When a loved one has died in a motor vehicle accident

The shock of learning that a loved one has died in a Texas automobile accident is devastating for families. In many cases, driver negligence, intoxication and/or recklessness is often found to have been a causal factor in fatal collisions. If that is so, an immediate family member can choose to file a wrongful death claim in civil court to seek restitution from the party or parties deemed responsible for the death.
